Buying Furniture For A Store Vs Purchasing Exhibition Display System
Miracle March 3, 2020 ArticleBuying Furniture For A Store Vs Purchasing Exhibition Display System
One of the things about modern furniture, including shopfitting features and cabinets, is that there needs to be a better balance between design and practicality. When it is practical furnishing, people often think of it as ‘boring’ or ‘does not stand out’. When the furniture or exhibition display is modern and loud, some contend that they are not practical, both in terms of cost AND design.
Well, that’s the tricky bit about picking the right furniture and display system for your store. If it is a new store that you are just opening, you are luckier than those who have been in business because while you do not have to contend with old furniture or need to take down existing fixtures, existing businesses and retail stores do. Deciding on new display systems for the store sometimes affects which old furniture you want to keep and which to discard or donate.
Do you need to hire an interior designer to revamp the store and help you decide which shopfitting display system to throw out and which to keep? I have to be honest – with the help and input from a professional comes in handy. But you do NOT have to have one. You can very well do your own research about display units available on the internet or ask around amongst your friends. I am sure they have pretty good taste too about what sticks and what does not.
Color scheming might also be another problem with replacing old display systems with new ones. Pick a supplier or company that provides for many options in terms of design. If need be, there isn’t a matching color that goes with your store’s color scheme, go for the classic colors like black, white and grey. You can match the other furniture and display stands instead.
After searching through the internet, you will find countless number of futuristic-looking store furniture that piques your interest – once again, we are here to remind you that unless you intend for the furniture to really stand out in your store, forget it. On the other hand, we strongly encourage store owners who regularly participate in exhibitions and conventions to invest in a futuristic display units so that it DOES stand out in the crowd.
Buying furniture for your store is a completely different ballgame from purchasing exhibition display systems. For the store, you need for it to be in sync with the rest of the furniture and interior of the outlet. For an exhibition, you need it to stick out, stand out and be loud!
Good luck and don’t forget to have some fun exploring the ideas that you will find on the internet!…

High Pressure Water Blasters
The idea of firing a jet of water under considerable pressure is not a new idea, as shown by the fact that this principle is the basis behind the operation of any ornamental fountain or water cannon (ranging from the near-industrial ones used by the army and police to the most basic of hand held water pistols). The same principle is also used for the propulsion of jet skis and many other types of water vessels. However, in recent years the practise of ‘water jetting’ (the pressurising of water and expelling it whilst putting it under an even greater degree of pressure) has started featuring prominently in the world of industry, most notably in the form of the high pressure water blasters used in the processes of water jet cutting and water jet cleaning.
Cutting utilises same principle as all other processes involving high pressure water blasters in that a jet of water is fired at a very high speed towards a material which it then cuts through. The process is almost exactly the same as that of water erosion which is found in nature, only greatly accelerated and concentrated. Due to the fact that a water jet cutter is capable of slicing through any material, it has become increasingly popular in the world of industry, with the process being found in a number of industries ranging from aerospace to mining where it can be used for rearming, carving and shaping as well as cutting.
Cleaning (also known as water jet stripping and water blast cleaning) is yet another process which has become increasingly popular in the world of industry (being frequently used in the heavy equipment, automotive and aerospace industries) as a means of removing undesired contamination, materials or coatings from surfaces of work pieces.
The process of water jet cleaning removes the undesired coatings through the use of one of two methods: erosion or delamination. Erosion is used for the removal of hard coatings (such as carbide thermal spray coatings and metal). In this process, a special nozzle is used to help break up the jet of water into small droplets which then impact the surface of the coating, causing it to erode whilst still leaving the substrate underneath intact. In the process of delamination (which is usually used on softer coatings), however, the water nozzle keeps the jet of water intact, thereby allowing the jet to penetrate the surface of the coating and impact the substrate before spreading out to delaminate the coating at the bond interface.…
Crucial Advantages of a Modular Exhibition Stand
There are certain crucial advantages to a modular exhibition stand that no other sort of exhibition stand possesses. Of course, whether these stands are suitable for your company depends to a great extent on your company profile and the kind of trade shows and events your company represents itself at. Especially the number of events. However, no matter what your company profile, these stands can, to a lesser or greater extent, aid your company in expanding its customer base and extending its brand image at a trade event.
What makes these stands so effective? Well, for one thing the right sort of stand will demonstrate just how professional your company it. It also shows your attitude towards your business and your customers, and the initiative, originality and innovation displayed by your company.
Let’s discuss the different points in favour of a modular exhibition stand.
Firstly, it is easy to transport. This makes it just perfect for a company that tries to covers as many trade shows as it can in the course of the year. This sort of a stand can be disassembled into various small components, and then those components can be folded into the smallest possible space, making the stand very easy to transport. This saves massively on costs, as it means that not only do you not have to have a different stand per location, but your transportation costs are also lower as you have to transport a far lesser volume.
But that’s not the full extent of your savings. There is more – a modular exhibition stand is also extremely easy to assemble and disassemble, meaning that your employees will probably be able to do it with a minimum of experience, saving you a great deal on labour costs. No longer will you need skilled technicians to assemble and disassemble your stands – men who charge expensively by the hour. And that money you save can be redirected into advertising or other methods of increasing your customer base.
Thirdly, the components of the stand are adaptable, and can be fitted together into different configurations, depending on your needs. This makes the stand very versatile.
It also makes the stand more interesting. You can change the way a modular exhibition stand looks drastically several times in the course of a trade show, thus ensuring that customers will visit again and again to see ‘what’s new’. This not only adds to the imprinting of your brand image on their memories, but also keeps them away from the competition.
Besides this, this adaptability also ensures that you can set up a stand to suit changing needs, without the need to change it for a new one entirely. For example, if your stand is to hand out promotional material, you can have a central area with desks, lighting and music, where cheerful employees hand out leaflets and branded goods. In another location and at some other time, you might want to show a movie instead, as more in keeping with the mindset of the customers visiting that particular trade event. Not to worry – the desks disassemble, and a movie screen comes up smoothly against one wall of the stand. Now the empty central area can be used to seat the customers watching the movie.
This incredible versatility and adaptability is what makes a modular exhibition stand the perfect tool for your company.…
Trade Fairs and Exhibitions
Trade fairs, trade shows or “expos” are a longstanding tradition of the commercial world. For the most part they are organised so that specific industries can showcase their latest products or services to potential clients and the competition, offering a substantial opportunity for valuable sales leads and marketing activity to any company that leases an exhibition stand at such an event.
Whilst some industry trade shows are open to both consumers – members of the public – as well as members of the industry itself, such as the famous E3 games expo or the Frankfurt bookfair, for the most part they are organised with an emphasis on the business-to-business (B2B) opportunities offered by such an event. By and large, attendance at such events is limited to either members of the trade or professionals in related industries or from prospective client companies, as well as to members of the press who can help make sure that expos and trade fairs have an impact beyond the few days they run for.
Simply attending a trade show can be a valuable means of retaining or building a reputation within the industry. For many, the key appeal to hosting an exhibition stand at industry events is as simple as a desire to be seen as an active member of the industry. On top of this though, there’s the opportunity to get an insight into the competition (even if the competition gets an insight into your company at the same time) as well as the chance to touch base with other members of the profession.
Often, this is of equal or perhaps even greater benefit to a company than the possible leads generated by their own exhibition stand. Even guarded casual conversations among competitor companies or other professionals within the industry can help paint a picture of wider trends within the market and inform company strategy in both the long and short term.
Beyond this though, most trade fairs or exhibitions also aim to directly engage with contemporary issues within their industry. Practically every industry exhibition will include a packed schedule of key note speeches, discussion panels and Q & A sessions where noted members of the professional community will offer their take on trends and developments and where attendees can gain tips on best practice or how to avoid typical mistakes. Another typically encountered aspect of such shows is a talk or product demonstration by a particularly influential member of the industry – someone who makes a product or provides a service used by practically everyone, even their competitors. One example of this is the software industry, where speeches or discussion sessions commonly feature at least one representative from at least one of the corporations which dominate the contemporary market – Apple, Google, Microsoft et al.…
Exhibition Hire – Which Items Should I Be Renting?
When you are preparing for an exhibition you should consider hiring exhibition items. This is especially important if you rarely attend exhibitions or if you are taking part in an exhibition that is in a different city or country and where the transport costs would be considerably high. In this situation, exhibition hire is a good exhibition.
Before you attend an exhibition, you should make a list of everything that you will need in the exhibition. Once you have this list, divide it into three columns: Items that you already have, items that will be provided by the exhibition venue and items that you do not have.
Once you have a list of everything that you do not have, you have two options. You can either rent these items or buy them. Go through each item and decide on each separately. There are three key things to consider:
1) How often will you use this? If you are going to use the item in the future (whether in future exhibitions or in a different capacity) consider buying the item. If you will use it rarely, rent the item.
2) How expensive is the item? Naturally, if an item is inexpensive, consider buying it as there is a very little financial investment.
3) How large is the item? Some items are very bulky and awkward to transport. These items will also be expensive to transport to the location. For these types of product, consider hiring them.
Some of the most common exhibition hire items are: pop-up stands, mannequins, display plinths, display boards and exhibition furniture. Technological items, especially, are also often hired because they are expensive, can be damaged in transit and, most importantly if your exhibition is in a different country, often will have a different plug and voltage.
The next time you are taking part in an exhibition, consider hiring furniture as it could save you time, save you money and make the whole organizing of your exhibition much easier for you.…
Why You Need an Exhibition Trailer for Your Next Event
Is it your job to organize a street fair, company outing, or a new sales presentation? If so, you know it is important to get all the details just right. A large part of that involves planning for any contingency. If it rains, hails, snows, are you prepared? If you use an exhibition trailer (or possibly more than one) for your next event, you will be taking a big step towards total preparation.
What is an exhibition trailer?
Go to almost any outdoor event and you are likely to see large temporary structures used for everything from a band shell to food vending. If you look closely at most of those structures and you will often see wheels and the equipment necessary to pull the trailer with an automobile. Those are exhibition trailers. They are useful for just about any event you could plan out doors. Souvenir and food vendors use them, as do carnivals and other temporary outdoor attractions. If you are in charge of an outdoor activity, you will probably find an exhibition trailer has more advantages than it’s alternatives.
Why is it better than the alternative?
If you are setting up an outdoor party, you know that you need to be ready in case of inclement weather. Some possible forms of temporary shelter might include existing open buildings, tents, or pre-built lean-twos. A trailer is a better alternative than any of those, however, because it is portable, easily stored, and sturdier than most other temporary forms of shelter.
But my event is different? Is this still right for me?
If your event is on-going, this might still be the perfect fit for you. The price to hire or purchase a trailer is often much less than the cost of building or buying a permanent structure. If you move from one event to another on a regular basis, the trailer is, in fact, ideal. For instance, if you have a business selling T-shirts at local events, your business has now gone mobile; you can bring your product directly to your customers.
What is my next step?
Whether you are ready to hire an exhibition trailer for an event, or considering a mobile business, your first step is to visit a dealer of exhibition trailers. Simply enter “exhibition trailers UK” into your favorite search engine to find a listing. Be sure to look at a variety of brands and, if possible, at a variety of dealers. Determine if you want to hire the trailer or purchase outright. Make sure the trailer you select will truly meet your needs.…

Custom Pop Up Displays – An Uncommon Display Option
A pop up stand is one of the standard pieces of exhibition equipment for anyone displaying at a trade show. The size of your display will be governed by the room at your exhibition but you will probably end up with either a 3×2, 3×3 or 3×4 pop up stand. The curved model of these stands are the standard type that most businesses use, but do you really want to be the same as everyone else? If you are at an event with companies that you compete against then you’ll want to stand out from the rest with a display that is unique.
There are a number of ways that you can make your pop up stand unique. You can increase the height, extend the width, and even alter the design of the stand by using a selection of pop up frames creatively.
Combining stands
Pop up frames have the ability to be joined together with the use of ‘ghost’ panels. These are individual panels, exactly the same size as the other panels on the stand but instead of being fixed to the main frame, the panel is used as a joiner panel between two separate frames to give the appearance of one seamless stand. This allows for all kinds of possibilities when you think of the variations that could be created. For example, two curved displays can be combined, one facing front and one in reverse. This will produce a snake like pop up stand that will form a gentle in and out curve. This can also be double sided if you decide to use it as a focal point to your exhibition.
You can also make some interesting shapes by joining pop up frames at 90 degree angles to create stands that will fit superbly into the corner of your display area. If straight displays are utilised then they can be extended as far as you want, covering your whole display wall.
Varying heights
Even though most pop up stands are 2.2m tall, there are larger stands on the market that will give additional visual presence for your display without taking up any additional floor space. A normal 3×3 is divided up into three units high by three units wide. Each unit is approximately 74cm x 74cm so a taller stand, a 4×3 for instance, would be four units tall by three units wide. This makes the display the same width as a 3×3 but almost 3m tall. This is certain to look distinctive amongst stands that are all basic height. It also gives you more scope for the design of the artwork for your stand as you now have more design area to work with.
Accessories
Whether you decide to use a standard sized pop up display or a unique, custom stand, there are a number of accessories that you can apply to your stand to make it more than just a space to present your graphics. There are integral display shelving units that can be integrated into a stand as well as literature shelves for the display of company brochures and booklets.
Whichever pop up display you decide to use, the most crucial thing is that you create a display that is astounding and reflects your business effectively.…
Beijing at a Glance – Part Two
Outside the walls and surrounding the old cities lie the modern industrial quarters and the rural suburbs. Despite a government preservation program, many of Beijing’s historic neighborhoods have been razed in recent years to make way for the construction of new office buildings, apartment complexes, and shopping centers. Qianmen Dajie (Ch’ien-men Tai-chi), the main street running south of the Qianmen (Front) Gate, was reopened in 2009 to foot traffic only; designed as a tourist attraction, it represents an idealized version of the old Beijing residential and shopping neighborhood of Dashalar (Tai-sha-laj). Among the many new structures built for the 2008 Olympic Games, held in Beijing, is a futuristic new Olympic stadium. The National Center for the Performing Arts (opened December 2007) is the world’s largest performing arts center. Like the stadium and the cantilevered towers of China Central Television’s new headquarters, it has helped remake the skyline of Beijing.
Modern industries have developed rapidly in Beijing since 1949. The city now has a wide range of industries. These include iron and steel, cement, machinery, chemicals, electronics, textiles, petrochemicals, motor vehicles, and processed foods. Because the city has become very polluted, the government is trying to relocate many of its most polluting factories and extend the city’s subway system. Beijing is also one of the leading centers of printing and publishing in China. Traditional handicraft articles, such as rugs, ivory and jade carvings, and cloisonn?, are among the city’s well-known exports.
As the national capital, Beijing is the focal point of communications and transportation in China. Railroads radiate to all major provincial capitals and industrial cities. The same pattern exists for air services. A modern highway (the longest expressway in China) opened in late 2000; it links Beijing to Shanghai via the port of Tianjin. Water transportation, however, is not as well developed as in other large Chinese cities. An underground rapid-transit system moves people within the city limits.
Beijing is China’s leading center of learning and culture. Beijing University and Qinghua (Tsinghua) University (1911) are the two most respected in China. The National Library of Beijing houses a collection of 11 million volumes. More than 50 other major institutions of research and education are located in the city. The Palace Museum has the largest and most varied collection of cultural items of all museums in the country. On the grounds of Beijing University is the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology (opened 1993); it displays a collection of archaeological relics and fossils. The Beijing Opera enjoys an international reputation. The city is rich in historical sites, relics, scenic spots, and tourist attractions. The Ming Tombs (a World Heritage Site) are about 50 km (30 mi) northwest of the city. The Summer Palace, the Beihai (Pei-hai) Park, the Marco Polo Bridge, the Museum of Natural History, the Beijing Exhibition Center, the National Art Gallery, the Beijing Zoo, and many restaurants are frequented by both residents and tourists. Tourism temporarily declined after the government repression of prodemocracy demonstrators in the Tiananmen Square Massacre of June 1989, but it has since recovered.…
