Private Room for Rent

A little under a week ago I returned from my second trip to Manhattan. Since the hostel that I stayed in last time had to close and I was on a trip with my girlfriend instead of a buddy this time, I had to find a new hotel. We were still on a student’s budget, so we took a private room for rent with shared bathroom in the Royal Park Hotel and Hostel.

Private Room for Rent

When we arrived we were welcomed with semi good news. We were told that there has been an accident in the house, so our room wasn’t ready. Therefore we had to be upgraded to a private suite for a night. Sounds nice, but in the royal park a suite is just a room that has a bathroom included (instead of having a shared bathroom).

The room and bathroom were nice, but there were some shortcomings. The water in the shower took ages to get warm, which is due to the fact that the suites are all situated in the upper floors of the hotel and the water pressure is not very high. With other words it takes ages to pump the hot water up to these craigslist tampa rooms.

The second problem was that the bed broke down under my girlfriend. She is a regular to skinny girl, so something like that should not happen. Even though we had a Queen Size bed, we both had an individual slatted frame. Hers slip of the frame of the bed, mine didn’t (I am way heavier than she is). I guess it was just bad luck, but things like that should not happen.

The location of the Royal Park is great though, being on 97th and Broadway. It is only 3 minutes away from the subway station, and as a bonus, it is an express train station! So it only takes you about 7 minutes Times Square!
My conclusion: If you are on a tight budget, the private suites in the Royal Park Hotel and Hostel are a decent deal. If you can afford it, I would advise you to find a place that is a little fancier though.
